In this project we are going to design an 8-band software audio equalizer using MATLAB which allows user to change the frequency range of the audio signal using the sliders and listen and save the audio of the equalized audio. We will use various filter such as low-pass, high-pass and band-pass filter. And finally, we will create the GUI which will take the audio files, filter the audio data based on the equalized band input and display the signal in time and frequency domain both after and before filtering. An audio equalizer, often known as an EQ, is a hardware or software tool used to balance the frequencies in an audio source. It enables you to change the loudness or volume of various frequency bands, allowing you to enhance or decrease certain aspects of the sound. An equalizer’s goal is to alter the tonal qualities of audio in order to obtain the desired sound quality or to correct for faults in the audio equipment or recording. You can improve the clarity, depth, and overall balance of the sound by altering the levels of different frequency bands. Equalizers are commonly utilized in a variety of audio applications such as music production, sound reinforcement systems, home audio systems, and even personal music players. They are available as standalone units or as components of audio mixing consoles, amplifiers, and audio interfaces. They can also be purchased as software plugins for digital audio workstations and media players.
