Why does the Video Input block in Image Acquisition Toolbox

Why does the Video Input block in Image Acquisition Toolbox 1.7 (R14SP1) not recognize my device?

When I open the mask for the Video Input Simulink block, it does not show my installed hardware, even though the hardware is supported and accessible from MATLAB using Image Acquisition Toolbox functions.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2007a (R2007a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

This is a known limitation of the Video Input Simulink block provided with Image Acquisition Toolbox. The Video Input Simulink block currently works with DirectX compatible hardware only. It is not compatible with any other hardware supported by the Image Acquisition Toolbox.

In order to work around this issue, a Simulink User-Defined Functions block can be used to execute Image Acquisition Toolbox functions directly from Simulink.
